We are a royalty-paying press. Authors who submit to BLP are not charged fees to have their work published. Our income is derived primarily through book sales (which is one reason why we are so selective with the works we accept for publication).

What we are looking for at this time are completed novels--35,000 to 90,000 words in length--in the genres of:

• science fiction: hard/soft/space opera
• fantasy: urban/shapeshifter/modern
• romance: science fiction/futuristic
• romance: paranormal/werewolf
• other 'spec fic' works with similar themes

Stories without a "happy ever after" are acceptable. Reprints by established/professional authors are considered if the title was published through a reputable conventional or traditional publisher (print or electronic). Do not submit any previously self-published works.

All queries should include the following:

1. A subject line of QUERY: TITLE
2. A cover letter including bio, experience, goals, etc.
3. The title of your work, the genre, and total word count
4. A marketing overview--see below**
4. Your Name, Pen Name, Email, and Website/Blog (if applicable)

Attach to your email in DOC or RTF format:

1. A brief synopsis
2. The first four chapters

**Note: We provide marketing support to our authors however we would still like you to provide to us a general idea of what you will do to help promote.

true-life, crime, nonfiction, historical, illustrated, children's, co-authored, anthology, inspirational
and/or those that contain repetitive cursing, material that is anti-Christian, unpatriotic,
political-statement, pornography, abuse, or have racial condemnation of any kind.

GENERAL GUIDELINES: All authors are asked to help promote their title. Please review our FAQs for more information. Submitting does not guarantee publication. BLP reserves the right to reject any submission without reason or notice. We prefer to work with authors who are over the age of 21 and located within the US but will consider authors from Australia, UK, and Canada. We will not respond to any query or submission where the author has not followed our posted guidelines.
